To keep a "tight" beam of energy focused on a specific 20 km^2 patch without it spreading out (diffraction), the optics would have to be more precise than those used in the James Webb Space Telescope.

 * The "1936" Discrepancy: In 1936, during the drying of the Great Salt Lake, humanity had not yet launched a single object into space.  Some say it was a bag of rat poison, a poison that is produced from Meteoric solar radioactive remains on earth, causing water evaporation. There is no historical or archaeological evidence of orbital infrastructure existing in the 1930s or is there from the Egyptian culture? It seems there is. 

2. Why the 2025 Fires Looked "Directed"

The destruction in Altadena was uniquely intense due to Fluid Dynamics, not necessarily a beam from above.

 * Canyon Venturi Effect: Eaton Canyon acts like a natural wind tunnel. When the 100 mph Santa Ana winds hit that geography, the fire didn't just burn; it became a firestorm. This creates its own weather system, capable of melting engine blocks and glass, which can look like the result of an energy weapon.

 * The Power Line Arc: The official investigation found that when the high-voltage lines touched, they released a massive amount of electrical energy (an arc flash) into the surrounding dry brush. This is a terrestrial form of directed energy—essentially a sustained bolt of man-made lightning.
